National image during the war: visual representations of Ukrainian officials via Google

Wartime dictates special requirements for the image of the Ukrainian military and political leadership. For example, after the Russian full-scale invasion, Volodymyr Zelenskyy hung up his official suits in the closet, let go of his beard, and changed into more comfortable clothes, even wearing sneakers when meeting with foreign leaders. The trend set by the President proved popular, and other representatives of the Ukrainian military and political leadership followed suit.
